THREE Malaysians made the country proud when they won three bronze medals in the 39th International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO) in Moscow recently.

Lee Gah Hung of SMK Tinggi Melaka, Goh Jun Yuan of SMK King George V, Seremban, and Muhamad Azri Muhamad Marican of Kolej Mara Banting took part in the annual competition that is open to students under 20 who have not enrolled into any tertiary institution.

Participants were tested on theory and practical aspects of chemistry.

Some 250 students from 68 countries, including China, Japan, Taiwan, Iran, Australia and Germany, competed in Moscow.

This is the second year Malaysia has taken part in the international competition.

The competition will be held in Budapest, Hungary, next year.
